Escape Pod

Escape Pod

This is not really considered a ship. You are placed in an escape pod in the event your ship is blown up. The only exception is the Scout Marauder, which does not have an escape pod.
Stats: Combat Odds - 0.6:1
Max Holds: 5 Max Fighters: 50 Max Shields: 50 Turns to Move: 6

KOZAK'S ADVICE: Trade in your Escape Pod for a Scout Marauder or better ship as soon as possible. If you are blown up while in an Escape Pod, you are out of the game for the rest of the day.


Runabout Danube Scout Marauder - ANSI

Scout Marauder

This is the smallest Federation craft available to traders. You are awarded a Scout Marauder by default if completely blown up and out of the game. The Scout does not have an escape pod, and if blown up while piloting one, you are out of the game for the day. The Scout features excellent combat odds of 2:1, the highest of any ship in the game. However, it only carries 250 fighters, which leaves it defenseless against the heavier combat ships. Only 25 cargo holds for trading with. Full long-range scanning capability.

Max Holds: 25 Max Fighters: 250 Max Shields: 100 Turns to Move: 2

KOZAK'S ADVICE: Not recommended for purchase, except to upgrade from an Escape Pod. Trade for quick cash and upgrade to a better ship as soon as possible.


Merchant Freighter

A good money maker early in the game, although poor for battle. It features 65 holds for trading, with an excellent turn ratio. Most players buy one of these early in the game for making profit while saving turns. Full long-range scanning capability.

Max Holds: 65 Max Fighters: 300 Max Shields: 500 Turns to Move: 2

KOZAK'S ADVICE: Desireable for purchase early in a game. Trade to raise quick cash and upgrade to better ship.


T'Khasi Orion

T'Khasi Orion

The T'Khasi Orion is the heaviest ship in the Small Class. It features 60 cargo holds for trading, with beefier combat odds and fighter capacity than the Merchant Freighter. Its only drawback is its lack of a Holo Scanner (density scanner only).

Max Holds: 60 Max Fighters: 750 Max Shields: 750 Turns to move: 2

KOZAK'S ADVICE:
This ship may be desireable early in games where you anticipate a lot of shooting going on between traders. Use this ship to trade for credits until you can afford the next class of ship.
